Wind Ball

179 telltales from stainless steel foil are arranged in a three-dimensional spherical grid.

Carbon fibre frame 75cm x 75cm x 250cm with stainless steel wire, connectors, structural components and pivot points.

The telltales in this sculpture are vertical when at rest and therefore behave quite differently to the counter-balanced types in other work. The frame is engineered down to near invisibility so the ‘ball’ appears to float in mid-air, sometimes even winking out of existence altogether.
